I wanted to provide an educational opportunity for my High School students to learn to serve others and themselves. I achieve this through teaching them to cook for the PADS Transition Housing one time a week. In order to do this (as funding is tight all over) we need $30.0 to $40.00 per week to buy the food to cook. Students plan nutritionally balanced meals, plan within a budget, go shopping, and then prepare the meal for 20 chronically homeless women in transition housing. In the past the students have written and received grants that they used to buy the necessary supplies.
